Richard Pettit

Richard is one of the Co-Directors of IPaD.
Richard is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Water and Environmental Manager status, plus is a Fellow of ICE and CIHT and Membership of CIWEM.
Although both Richard and Steve can both undertake the planning and design of a project, Richard specialises in the pre-planning element of the life of a scheme. Richard has spent the last 28 of his 43 years in the industry specialising in planning infrastructure necessary for achieving planning permission of development projects, and assisting developers to win permission. Then, wherever possible, assisting those developers on the design and implementation of the developments.
Richard has undertaken many Expert Witness projects, and really enjoys the buzz of developing a case and giving evidence.
Prior to IPaD, Richard was a Board Director at JMP responsible for the Midlands Region. The business began as development planning and infrastructure design for private developers, but branched out into working for the public sector, most notably the Highways Agency, providing planning and development control support. At its peak Richard built the office to 75 staff.
Richard also built a department of 25 staff whilst in Atkins, this also specialised in development planning and infrastructure design. Richards started his career in Local Government.
