Highways design centre on three key things – knowing the standards, applying them in a cost effective and innovative way, and having a good relationship with the approving authority.
The team at IPaD have been involved in designing highways for over 20 years, and as such have experience with almost every conceivable highway issue. They have worked through the many changes in the design legislation and are comfortable using the different design guides and advice notes.
Richard, Steve and Nigel served their early years in Local Government working in the Engineering Departments, undertaking roles in Capital Works design, Development Control, and Maintenance. They then moved into consultancy and have been designing carriageways of all scales ever since. Richard’s specialty is Major Trunk Road design and has many links with Highways England. Nigel specialises in the design of Local development infrastructure for both residential and Industrial premises. Steve covers both areas, but specialises in Section 278 off-site junctions highway improvement schemes.
